As a parent, its my occupation to do certain the movies my children watch are appropriate. I dont trust on the criterion movie rating system.
Why?
The criterion film ratings are given by a grouping of parents that are portion of a commission called the film and rating board, which is portion of the Classification and Rating Administration. The following quote, taken directly from www.flimratings.com, explicates the process:
As A grouping they review each movie and, after a grouping discussion, ballot on its rating, making an educated estimate as to which rating most American parents would see appropriate.(emphasis mine)
If the members of the movie and rating board dont cognize me and my children, how can they have got any thought of what I would see appropriate? They cant.
I make admire the work the grouping makes and Im glad they exist. But, even though this system is generally good, I have got seen many that I dont hold with. I personally review the movies my children watch before I let them to watch.
You have got to be careful because anyone can lose something. And it seems, at least at times, the film shapers seek to steal things in on us. If the movie and ratings board loses something, theres A good opportunity that another set of eyes will catch it.
The underside line? My children are mine, not the children of the movie and ratings board. I will make up one's mind what is appropriate and what isnt.
